New Creature

Hello!

It's my last post as one of the Sweet 'n Sassy Divas. It's been wonderful to be part of such a wonderful group of ladies. Thank you all for your friendship. I will miss you!

Hopefully you've been enjoying the fabulous SWEET Peeks of the soon-to-be released sets. I decided to pick an 'older' set for my card. Since I love butterflies, New Creature clear stamp set is one of my favorites (also available in digi format).

I heat embossed the butterfly on vellum with white embossing powder, and cut it out. To add a touch of color to it, I colored the back of it with a red marker. It just makes my butterfly soft and delicate.

To embellish my card, I used seam binding ribbon, tiny Prima flowers, pearls, and hat pins.

Thank you for stopping by,

Monika

Just Because You're You

Good Morning!  This post is a hard one for me to do - I can't believe that 6 months has just flown by and this is my last entry for Sweet n Sassy Stamps.  I have really enjoyed my time being a Diva and I thank Korin (over and over) for having given me the opportunity to be here.

So for my last entry, my card features the sweet new image, Abby's Birdhouse and a sentiment from One of a Kind.  I hope you like it.

I did use a lovely sketch from Card Patterns for the layout and some great paper from the Latte Matstack from DCWV.  It's a sweet and simple card that, I think, delivers a message with impact.

Thank you for all the sweet comments you've left me for the cards I've shared during this time!

Many hugs & blessings,
Melissa

He put a new song in my Heart

Hello all. I'm here with my last blog post for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps as my term is up the end of this month. I would like to take this moment to thank Korin for having me on her team.

I used Praise the Lord for my card today. I decided to pull out my prismacolor pencils for the bird and blended them with odorless minerals. I used copics for the rest of the image. Kept my card pretty clean as I didn't want anything to take away from the image.

Thanks for stopping by,

Amber

Springtime Cocoa

Good morning! Here is Springtime Cocoa peeking around with some Get Well wishes for a friend! I think I need to add some sparkle to the flowers, but isn't Cocoa sooo cute?! He is colored with copic markers (colors are posted on my blog) and the paper is Gertie from My Mind's Eye.

Here's the link to the Cocoa page over at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps! Hope you can visit for a look at many more great images!

Today I say good bye

Sadly, this is my last post as a designer for Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.
Wow, six months flew by!
This has been such a fabulous design team to work on.
Thank you Korin, for everything. You are the best.
I tried to make an extra special card today.
So, I tried my hand, at making a twisted ribbon bow.
Not bad for my first attempt.
I paper pieced a new digi, Abby's birdhouse, and colored her with copics.
Isn't she darling?
I added a sentiment from the Happy Birthday stamp set.
Layered it all on a couple of nesties and there you have it.
Thanks for stopping by today and check out all the goodies at Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps.

May guest designers and new Design Team Members

Happy Resurrection Day everyone! I hope that your day will be filled with joy as we celebrate the rising of our Lord Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord, He is risen!

We usually wait until the last day of the month to introduce our newest DT members and guest designers but this month we are starting something a bit different :)....

As you probably know, we release our new clear stamps on the 1st of the month. Well, starting with our May release we are going to be sharing "Sweet " Peeks of the new sets the days leading up to the release as well as some beautiful and inspiring card samples created by our amazing DT.

So, "when does this all begin?" you ask.....TOMORROW!! :) We will share a "Sweet" Peek of our first set tomorrow and then one every day until our release on the 1st :). So without further ado........

I am pleased to welcome 4 ladies to the Sweet N Sassy stamps design team today along with our 2 May guest designers. However, the hard part is that we are saying farewell to 4 of our current design team members.

For the past 6 months, Joni Mastronardi, Monika Davis, Amber Hillman, and Melissa Craig have greatly inspired us with their amazing designs. It has truly been a pleasure working with these wonderful women and they are going to be missed. This coming week, each of them will be sharing a project here on the blog so please be sure to stop by and see what they have to share with us. Best wishes to each of you ladies!

Now, for the happy news. We have 4 lovely ladies who will be joining the design divas for the next 3-6 months. It is my pleasure to welcome Julia Aston, Harriet Skelly, Shelby Goolsby, and Mary Marsh to our design team. Below, is a little more info and a picture of each of them.

Mary Marsh- I am married to the love of my life, Alan, and we live just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We have 2 sons and 4 beautiful grandchildren. We are part of the leadership in our church. Some of our responsibility includes mentoring young couples and help prepare them for a successful married life. The trust bond that develops between us always amazes my husband and I. My love and passion for paper crafting started as a young girl. Many a warm, summer day was spent with my girlfriends playing with paper dolls and “making clothes” for them to wear. Little did I realize that I would become such a paper-crafting enthusiast many years down the road. I was introduced to rubber stamping by a work associate about 5 years ago. I was hooked right from the beginning and have watched my crafting skills improve over the years. I worked in the telecommunications industry for 30 years at Verizon. I retired about 2 years ago and now I have more time to devote to my hobby. I soon decided that I should set a goal with my paper art. So, I started a blog and my work started getting noticed. When I received an email from Korin asking me if I was interested in being a part of the design team for Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps, I was thrilled and accepted immediately. I am looking forward to my term and creating with this talented group of women and all these beautiful stamp images.

Julia Aston- Hi everyone! I'm Julia Aston and I live just north of Boston, MA. I've enjoyed crafting since I was about 5 years old when my mother would set my sister and I up on the dining room table with papers, stickers and crayons! I've jumped from sewing, to quilling, to papermache and calligraphy - finally settling on stamping where I've stuck for the past six or so years! I just love how I can create a beautiful card or craft with all the stamps, dies, and inks!! I taught school in the beginning of my career life - but I presently work full time as an administrative assistant at a Boston hospital. I have one grown son and a wonderful husband who tolerates my stamping addiction with very good humor! We also share our home with two sweet grey sister cats. Since I have to be at work all day - I'm usually up late at night stamping away in my craft room. When I'm not stamping you will find me hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking, reading, volunteering at church or gardening depending on the season. I am thrilled and honored to have been asked to join the Sweet N Sassy Design Team, to be able to play with these beautiful SNSS stamps and to work with the talented Design Team here!

Harriet Skelly
- Hi, my name is Harriet Skelly (hskelly on SCS) and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband of almost 30 years. We have one daughter who is 21 and 3 cats. I have been addicted to one sort of craft or another throughout my life
but most recently I have been addicted to knitting and stamping/cardmaking. I
am in a knitting group that knits scarves, blankets, premie hats and chemo caps
for charity. I started stamping and making cards about 6 years ago and have
learned almost everything I know from SCS (participating in the challenges) and
blogs. My favorite images to design with are winged things (mainly butterflies)
and flowers (poppies and daisies are my favorites) and I'd say my style is
CAS. I am on a few other Design Teams and I am thrilled to be designing for
Korin and SNSS!

Shelby Goolsby- My name is Shelby Goolsby and you can find me in South Texas crafting and playing with my sweet energetic kids ages seven, five and three. I work part time as a decorator along with my wonderful husband at his architecture firm. Crafting has become a way for me to get back my lost love of art and to find something that gives me some mommy time. I am still fairly new to this wonderful crafting world and am having such fun learning and meeting new people. God has blessed me in so many ways and I give him thanks everyday. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful Sweet 'n Sassy design team. Korin is so talented and her faith is so inspirational. I am so thankful for this opportunity and I hope you enjoy my creations.

The 2 very talented ladies who will be joining us as guest designers for the month of May are Grace Nywening and Giovana Smith. We are certainly going to be in for a treat this month as they are both fabulous papercrafters! Below is a little more information about each of them.

Giovana Smith- Hello, my name is Giovana Smith. I was born and raised in Peru and lived there until 2002. I moved to the United States after I married my wonderful husband David. We have a wonderful talkative girl who is 7 now and loves to stamp and color with mommy. My husband is very supportive and has learned many "stamping" terms, LOL. I started making cards in 2006, when I created a couple of cross-stitch cards for a couple of expecting friends, after that I got curious about this and I got hooked when I discovered stamps, ink, papers!! My favorite embellishments are ribbon and pearls and I love to sew on my cards. I teach how to make cards to my church friends and we all enjoy it very much!!!

Grace Nywening
- I am a wife of almost 40 years, a mother and a grandmother. I have always been into all sorts of crafts but quilting was my “big thing” until I was introduced to paper crafts, and the rest is history as they say! I first started stamping a little bit in the 1990’s when while Christmas shopping I saw a demonstration on heat embossing. I started out mainly making all our Christmas tags. Because I was working full time I really didn’t do too much else with it until 2008, when my daughter got involved in a Stampin’ Up! workshop group. She showed me some of the things they were doing and I was hooked! I now enjoy the luxury of being home, and stamping fills my spare time with so much joy. I love card making because of the joy they can give to others. I started my blog, Th-INK-ing of you a couple of years ago and as a born again Christian, have tried to bring glory to my Lord and Savior through it as well. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work for several wonderful Christian stamp companies during this journey, and I thank Korin for this opportunity to work alongside the talented SNS team this month.

I am really looking forward to being inspired by all the wonderful creations that all of these women create for Sweet N Sassy stamps. So, please join me in welcoming Shelby, Julia, Harriet, Mary, Grace, and Giovana to the team!

Again, Happy Easter to you all and I hope that you are surrounded by family, friends, and most of all God's abundant love on this Resurrection Sunday! Thank you for sharing a part of it with us.

Elegant Blessings

Today, I would like to show you a card I made using one of our older sets called Elegant Blessings. I thought that with Easter on Sunday it was particularly fitting. The set has 2 cross images and 11 sentiments. I used the smaller cross from the set on my card. I sponged ink around the image and added small pearls to accent it.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope that you enjoy your weekend!

Oops! I forgot!

Here I am blog hopping and I pop onto the SNSS blog and notice there is no post for today.....I think to myself, "Uh oh.....was it my turn to post today?".......back to my email reminders I go......and what do I find?.......an email reminding me that I have today's SNSS blog post! LOL! Sheesh!

So anyway, I am a *tad* late with this ;).....sorry about that folks! Sometimes my brain decides to take a vacation ;).....wish the rest of me could! :)

I love this tulip image from Spring Tulips released earlier this month (you can also get it as a digi). I know you have seen it on here a lot lately, but it's just so pretty and since Spring is finally here, and the tulips will be gone before you know it, let's just enjoy them while we can ;). The sentiment I used is from the Praise the Lord stamp set also released this month.

Well, thanks for stopping by today. Sorry to have spaced on you!

Inky hugs,
Korin

Wait On The Lord

Today's SCS  TECHNIQUE LOVERS CHALLENGE # 321 - Same But Different was too hard to pass up.  I just made the card on the left late Sunday for today's post on my blog and sealed the envie and dropped in the mail. When I looked at today's challenge I had to pull up my picture and make another one. I like how the 1st one turned out but after loading it thought better of some of my placements but did not have time to start over so today I got to start over. I still had some dp left over and pleant of primas and off to my cave I went.
I changed the placemnt of my flourshes and leaves this time more around the primas. I airburshed both the pink and yellow prima and topped them off with a solid white closed together by a yellow brad this time. Much softer effect I think than the copic colored yellow prima on the left. I used the same Nesties, sentiment and copic coloring around the Nestie for both.
This is also for Friday's QUEEN FOR THE DAY # 56 - Mrs.Boz. I chose her BEAUTIFUL CARD HERE to CASE. I changed the flower type and used dp but kept the basic layout.
I used last Tuesday's COLOR CHALLENGE # 319 - So Pretty Pizzazz.
My focal sentiment is from a set called "Wait On The Lord" from SWEET N SASSY STAMPS that I just bought and could not wait to get it dirty. I love using sentiments for focal panel but I also love long sentiments suchh as this for using on the inside. I have almost nothing for inside of a card. Now another early and late day at work ahead of me so off I go.
RECIPE:
Stamps: Wait On The Lord, SNSS
Paper: whtie, pretty in pink, pear pizzazz, so saffron, MME
Ink: so saffron
Accessories: Nesties label 9, Quickutz Flourish, Fiskars Leaf, Martha Stewart Fern punch, Primas, ABS, copics
Techniques: ABS, 3D, Same but Different

Customer spotlight Sunday

Well, Easter is next Sunday so I thought that these super cute cards created by Sheena Brooks would be perfect to feature today. She made 2 versions of the same card using different papers on each. Sheena used our Egg-cited Cocoa digi on her cards and there is still plenty of time to add this digi to your collection if you still have some Easter cards you'd like to make. I love the papers she picked for her cards and the coloring of Cocoa is terrific!

Thank you for sharing your adorable cards with us today Sheena!
