November Sweet Peek #1

Good morning to you!!

I am a bit late with this post thanks to a little accident I had last evening preventing me from getting the post scheduled.....I dropped a piece of furniture on my foot and thought I might have broken it.....Praise the Lord it is MUCH better this morning...and I no longer suspect a break....just a ton of bruising. Phew!

Anyway, we are doing things a bit differently this month with our Sweet Peeks....instead of sharing little snippets which lead you to our DT blogs for full samples we decided to save all the samples and compile them into one DT blog hop the day of our release party :). We hope you don't mind waiting a bit longer to see those samples, but we know it'll worth the wait ;).

Today's peek is of our November FREE w/ $50 set...Thinking of You.....

Our Happy Birthdays sentiment set was so popular a few months back that we thought it would be great to add a Thinking of You sentiment set to the line.

~Set measures 3"x4"
~Includes 8 sentiments
~FREE throughout the month of November with your $50 CLEAR STAMPS order.
~Price will be $9 on December 1st

Check back tomorrow for another fun Sweet Peek that will warm your heart :)....

Woof you a Merry Christmas

PC077350

This sweet dog from the Woof You set was colored with copics. I colored him to look like a golden retriever just like my dog Lexi :). I added liquid applique to the fur trim of the Santa hat which is a digi that can be used with just about any of your favorite images to make them more festive. The scarf and hat were accented with a spica glitter pen and the nose has crystal effects on it to make it look wet and shiny. This little cutie is also available as a digi called Puppy Love. The sentiment is from the Winter Friends set.

Merry Christmas

Happy Wednesday everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit the Sweet 'n Sassy blog. It's Mary Marsh here and this is my last post as a design diva for Sweet 'n Sassy stamps. My 6 month term has quickly come to an end and now I move to alumni status.

It has been an amazing experience to design for Korin's company. I pray for continued success for her & Dan in their venture.

For my card today I used the Christmas Light and Light of Christmas stamp sets.
These 2 stamp sets are so versatile. They can be used in a variety of ways and without a stamped focal image. And that's what I am showing you today.

I used the background stamp (Light of Christmas set) and stamped it in artichoke ink directly onto my designer paper. The Merry Christmas (Christmas Light set) sentiment I stamped in cherry cobbler ink and layered on a spellbinders fancy tag 2 die.

I cut one of the large poinsettias from the designer paper and popped it up for dimension. I used some cherry cobbler ribbon and cut a holly leaf and added to the bow center.

That's my card for today. I will see all of you in blog land. God bless.

Possibility

Hi, it's Beate again. I can't believe this is my last post already! I want to share with you another card I created for one of the Hope you Can Count On challenges on Splitcoaststampers.

A sentiment from the set Everyday Miracles was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock that had been cut and embossed with a Tear Drop Circle Nestabilities die. The inside was first with Antique Linen, then the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink. Silver Rhinestones were added to the rim of the Grand Oval Nestabilities dies. The edges were sanded before the layers were adhered to the card base, Neenah Solar White cardstock cut and embossed with a\Grand Scallop Oval Nestabilities die. A black Finesse Rhinestone swirl was cut apart and adhered to the card base before the sentiment panel was adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

White Organdy Ribbon was tied into a bow with help of the Bow-Easy. It was topped with a green button and adhered next to the sentiment circle. A butterfly was cut out of Market paper with the new Donna Salazar Wonderful Wings dies. The butterfly was adhered to the circle and topped with Stardust Stickles. Three black Rhinestones finish of the butterfly and card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! And thanks again to Korin and Taylor for inviting me to join them this month.
Hugs and smiles

~ You Make My Heart Sing ~

Today I really got down to my roots.   I was digging through some old totes a few weeks ago and came across some 12 x 12 printed vellum that I purchased off of HSN way back when I first started making cards.  Vellum has always been a favorite medium for me.   I've used it in many ways, but as of late, I've let it sit on the sidelines.

Today I brought it out to pair it with this gorgeous image from the Melody of Love clear stamp set.  It was so much fun (and soothing!) to color.   I popped up the birds and one of the flowers to give it more depth.

The other part of my reminiscing is music.   I am a huge fan of praise music.   My husband was a big part of our church's praise team back in New York.  Since moving to Colorado, we've yet to find a church that has a praise team that is active enough to allow him to sing.  He truly has an amazing gift he needs to share, so we continue to look.

Here are my details:
Colors: Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette, GP White
Ink: Versamark Black Onyx, copics, white gel pen
Accessories: 5/8" blue gingham ribbon, 1/2 pearls, MS heart punch, Terrific Tags Two, white 1/2 pearls, tiny punched hearts (from a border punch), dimensionals, sticky tape

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Customer Spotlight Sunday

A very Happy Sunday Morning to you!

Today we have our Customer Spotlight post and the card above was made by Jenny Flynn.  Jenny is an active member in our Sweet 'n Sassy Connection and a very sweet Christian lady.

Her card was made with Turtle's Heart Balloons digi.  I love how she used the patterned papers with the sparkly paper because it gives the card the look of different textures.  The turtle is colored in great colors and she has the perfect sentiment.  Gotta love that Baker's Twine too (available in the Sweet 'n Sassy Store...HERE)

Thank you for sharing your beautiful work!

Wishing You a Season of .........

Happy Saturday everyone!  This will be my last time to post here as my time of being on the Sweet 'n Sassy Design Team is coming to a close at the end of October.  Boy - that 6 months time really passed by quickly!   I have enjoyed working with the rest of the Design team and Korin's lovely stamps.  I hope you have been inspired by my creations during my tenure here!

So, on with my card for today!  We are rapidly moving towards the season of Thanks so I created a fall color Thanksgiving card to share.  I love these 3 sentiments - they pretty much sum up all the things we have to be thankful for!
I used stamps from two Sweet 'n Sassy sets for my card - the tree is from Forest Silhouettes and the sentiments are from Autumn Bounty. I used this week's Split Coast Stampers sketch for my card.

First I stamped the images on a piece of patterned paper and then embossed it. Then I adhered all of the panels of patterned paper to the kraft card base and embossed that.  (Embossing actually shortened my card by 1/2" (!) so I had to cut a piece off of the back of the card.)  I tied the wrinkled seam tape around the card and then adhered the stamped panel over it with foam tape.  To accent the sentiment I added some tiny twinkles between the words and called it done!

I hope you have a wonderful fall weekend and thank you for spending some of your creative time stopping by here today!

Happy Stamping!

Julia Aston

Stamps: Sweet 'n Sassy - tree from Forest Silhouettes, sentiments from Autumn Bounty

Lavender Rhubarb

Good morning!

This morning I'm sharing a card that I made recently with Rhubarb the Teddy Bear digital stamp. I love re-sizing digital images to make them a bit bigger when creating a focal point for cards.  After printing Rhubarb out, I die cut a notebook border along one side and decided to color him a light blue and transform 'him' into a 'her' to make an all occasion card to keep on hand to give to a friend when she needs it.

Have a great rest of your day!  I hope it includes some stamping!

Flowers in Bloom...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a somewhat simple and fairly quick card. Sometimes, those are the best! I wanted to come up with a design that can be easily reproduced, but still had something extra... hence the stitching. It always looks nice, but if you have a machine, it doesn't take that long to do. If you don't have a machine, you can always do Faux Stitching, where you paper-pierce around the edges, then draw the stitch lines with white or brown marker.

I stamped my flower image from Flowers in Bloom clear stamp set on a strip of paper, colored it with Copic Markers, and sponged the edges with brown ink. Next I stamped the greeting from Poppies and Greetings clear stamp set, one of my favorite sets with most of the basic greetings. Then I attached the strip of paper to a piece of brown strip, but first I punched one edge with a decorative border punch. I stamped an extra butterfly, cut the wings out and attached them to the original image with dimensional foam tape. The background paper is dry embossed and the edges are sponged with brown ink to add more texture to the card. I also distressed the edges.

To add some sparkle to my card, I used Stickles on the middle of the flowers, and some pretty pearls scattered all over the card.

I used colors (loosely) from this week's SNSS Inspiration Challenge on SplitCoastStampers, SNSSIC10. However, I used white instead of cream.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Distressed Wild Flowers

Hi, it's Beate again.

For this post I thought I share a card I created to update an older tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. The Foxy Oxi Technique. I created it back in 2004 when OxiClean was a pretty new product. I was wondering if it would act just like Bleach. Well, it does and it doesn't. Depending on what ink and paper you use, the results vary.

For my sample I used a shipping tag and Distress inks. Distress inks don't bleach out all the way, the get darker spots. When I created the tutorial, I used Stampin' Up! Classic inks and Whisper White cardstock. That combination bleached out into white spots.

I sponged my shipping tag with Peeled Paint, Broken China and Wild Honey Distress inks before I sprinkled OxiClean over it and sprayed it with water. After the tag dried, I cut it with a Petite Oval Nestabilities die and stamped the main image from the Wildflowers set in Jet Black Archival ink over it.

The oval was first layered on a slightly bigger white oval, then on a piece of black cardstock that had been cut and embossed with a Label 18 Nestabilities die.

The pieces of My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Sunshine paper were stitched to a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of black cardstock. The bottom corners were rounded. A 4" strip of white cardstock was cut and embossed with a Lacy Doily Accent die. It was adhered over the horizontal patterned paper strip.

A doily was cut apart, sponged with Antique Linen and adhered under the Label 18 layer. White Organdy ribbon was run under the main image and tied around the layers. It was topped with a button that was tied on with Linen thread.

The sentiment is also from the Wildflowers set. It was stamped on a piece of white cardstock that had been cut and embossed with one of the Fancy Tag labels and sponged with Wild Honey Distress ink.

To finish the card off a Pearl swirl was cut apart. The bigger part was adhered to the top right, the smaller one to the lower left of the card front. The layers were adhered to a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Kraft cardstock, folded in half.

Here is a video I created for this technique for the visual learner:

Sending Love to You

Last week's Clean and Simple challenge over at Splitcoaststampers was to be inspired by a gorgeous breakfast photo.  I used the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Tea Time set, paired with a sentiment from the Christmas Tags set, to create my card.

To make the little "cinnamon stick", I cut a small pice of kraft card stock, sponged the edges with a couple different colors of distress ink, distressed the edges with my fingernail, and then spritzed the whole thing with water.  I rolled it up and tied it with a piece of ribbon until it dried, and then tied it onto my card!  My delicious background patterned paper reminded me of the warm background in the photo.

Supplies:
Stamps: Tea Time, Christmas Tags (SNSS)
Card Stock: Chocolate Chip (SU); White (Neenah); Kraft (Bazzill)
Patterned Paper: Forever Fall (Bo Bunny)
Ink: Rich Cocoa (Memento); Tea Stain, Walnut Stain (Ranger)
Coloring Medium: Copics (C00, C1, C2, C3, E31, E33, E35)
Accessories: Twisted Burlap (May Arts)
Tools: Spray Bottle (Stampendous)

Customer Spotlight Sunday

Happy Sunday Morning!

Today we have another great card  to share with you for our Customer Spotlight Sunday.  This cut card was designed by Peggy Wainman.  I have to admit, Cocoa, is one of my favorite characters at Sweet 'n Sassy and I love that Korin has used him in STAMP and DIGI form both!!!

Peggy's card is beautifully done and hopefully motivating you to think about getting your Christmas cards going.  I love the warmth of the colors she chose as well as the pretty punch on the side with the twine and buttons!

Super cute card Peggy!  Thank you for using our Sweet 'n Sassy images!

Seasons Greetings

Oh ok...so as much as I want to delay the onslaught of colder weather, the truth is that Christmas is just around the corner! Is it too early to start thinking about the creation of holiday cards? Just don't remind me of how much work is on the horizon...**smile**

I definitely had the holidays on my mind when I created this card using one of our newly released stamp sets, Christmas Joy. I love this birdie image and had a great time coloring it with Copic markers. I even got a little crazy and stamped the bird and pine cone twice so I could pop up the images. Got to love that added dimension!

My designer paper is from Imaginsce and the word background is from a new embossing folder, which was used on Tim Holtz kraft Core-dinations paper (sand the embossed areas for a nice kraft accent!) The flowers are from Petaloo and this sweet layout is from a former Sweet Stop challenge.

Enjoy!

Thinking of You Poppies

Hello, it's Bridget here today with a card I mading using a fabulous Sweet and Sassy Stamps set called Poppies and Greetings.  I had my eye on this set for a long time, not only for the pretty poppies but for all the beautiful sentiments included - nine of them! I love how they cover so many occasions from "birthday" to "get well" and "thinking of you" to "thank you"!   They fit perfectly on tags, ovals, or small Nesties too.
I may not make a card every day with these pretty poppies, but I've already reached for these sentiments nearly every day!
The doily is cut with a Cheery Lynn Designs English Tea Party die which you can now find at Sweet and Sassy Stamps, along with some of their other beautiful dies!  I cut a black circle to put behind the white doily just to give a little more definition.  After coloring the poppies with copics, I used a white gel pen to accent their centers.  The whole card base is embossed with a Craft Concepts embossing folder called Budding Vines.  The little tag was cut and stamped with Papertrey Inks Tiny Tags set.
It's Friday : ) - I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs, Bridget

Believe in Miracles

Hi, Harriet here.  I created this card for several challenges: HYCCT1111 (Taylor's challenge on SCS "To Fight Like a Girl" -  use girlie embellishments), Flutter By Wednesday which is to use scraps (and include a butterfly, fairy or an angel) and I used the Card Patterns#136 for my layout.   I used my favorite Sweet 'N Sassy stamp set on this card - Everyday Miracles.
I thought the Cheery Lynn Fancy Flourish die and the sparkly pink ribbon was "girlie" and I used a lot of pink!  The butterfly was stamped on Memory Box patterned paper and cut out and popped up.
This card will be going to MD Anderson Cancer Center along with my other cards from the SCS Hope You Can Cling To challenges.  My personal challenge is to do every challenge this month.  Will you be joining me?
Thanks for coming by!
Supplies: Stamps - Sweet 'N Sassy Everyday Miracles; Paper - PaperTrey, Memeory Box, MME Lost And Found; Ink - Memento; Misc - Cheery Lynn Fancy Flourish Die, Ribbon, Foam Squares

Season Of Change

My husband needed a thank you card to give to our friends for some gifts he received. This is what I came up with.

Pretty simple and straight forward card really. I used one of the leaf images from the Season of Change set and did the rock and roll technique using mustard and tangerine inks. The white panel is embossed with a cuttlebug polka dots folder, add some pearls to the corners and some ribbon and call it a day :)

Supplies:

stamps- Season of Change and Many Thanks sets from Sweet N Sassy
paper- soft suede, whisper white, more mustard from Stampin Up
tangerine tango ribbon

We Blossom and Flourish

Hi, it's Beate again. Today's card is another sample I created for the Hope You can Cling to Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. This challenge was to incorporate pink in a masculine card.

The sentiment from Season of Change was stamped in the center of a 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of white cardstock with embossing ink. The sentiment was embossed with clear ink before the entire piece was sponged with Tattered Rose, Wild Honey and Peeled Paint Distress ink. Leaves from Season of Change were stamped over it in the same colors.

The edges of the panel were distressed and stitched to a 1/4" bigger piece of brown cardstock. Three brads were added to the top left of the card.

The card base is a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half. The card front was embossed with the Cuttlebug Brocade Embossing Folder and the edges were sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink. The layers were adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

Leaves were cut out of white cardstock with leaf dies matching the set. Leaves were stamped over the die cuts and the edges were sponged before both leaves were tied together with a button and Linen thread. The leaves were adhered to the lower right of the sentiment panel.

Here is a video for the visual learner:

Having a Blast!

Happy Monday to you, friends!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  I had the wonderful experience of doing some make-and-takes at Heirloom's York Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps this weekend.  It was so much fun meeting and talking with people who enjoy this wonderful craft...I am convinced that stampers are some of the nicest people you will ever meet! Working with Korin and her family was a blast!

Speaking of having a blast...over at The Sweet Stop, we are celebrating a "Blast  From the Past" for the month of October by revisiting some of the fabulous sketches from the past. I used this week's sketch for my card today.

I just love the rich, earthy colors of fall and this gorgeous bouquet from the "Autumn Bounty" clear stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Mix those two elements with some beautiful paper from the "Forever Fall Collection" paper pad by Bo Bunny and you have a winning combination...don't you think! The fall bouquet was colored with copic markers.  The doily was cut from some of the Bo Bunny paper with the Cheery Lynn English Tea Party Die which is now carried by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. The little leaves in the corner were cut with a Spellbinders foliage die.  All the layers were heavily sponged with Walnut Stain distress ink.  Add some ribbon and pearls colored with a copic marker and the result is a rich autumn bounty!

Thanks for visiting with us today...hope you have a chance to get out and enjoy autumn wherever you happen to be!

Hugs,
Cathy

Customer Spotlight Sunday

Happy Sunday Morning!
I hope you have a beautiful Lord's Day today!
Since today is Sunday that means it time for our Customer Spotlight and I have not just one, but
two cards to share with you from two talented ladies!

This first card is made by Sheila of Inky's Delight.  She used our beautiful, Peace of God, stamp set and colored the Titmouse bird so perfectly.  Her card has such warmth and great choice in papers and embellishments!  The twine bow to the side adds such a great touch!

This second card was made by Carol Longacre and it's such a cute card!!!  Carol used our sweet, Rhubarb's Cuppa Joe, digi stamp!  She couldn't have colored him any cuter and I love the colors and the great orange plaid bow.  She really made him pop on this card!!!

Thank you ladies for the great cards and use of our Sweet 'n Sassy images!

Woof-Woof

Happy Saturday everyone and thanks for taking the time to visit the Sweet 'n Sassy blog. It's Mary Marsh here and it's my turn to post on the blog.
Hope this long holiday weekend will be a relaxing one for you. We are celebrating Columbus Day on Monday here in the U. S., and Monday is also Thanksgiving Day in Canada.

My card for today is using the Sweet 'n Sassy set "woof you".  Isn't he just the cutest puppy? The card colors were determined by the photo on our weekly inspiration challenge. Here is a link to get all the details in case you didn't know we have this Tuesday challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

I colored my puppy with prismacolor pencils and gamsol and paper pieced his bandana. I added some puppy paw buttons that I had in my stash to complete my card.

That's it for me on this post so until next time.........God bless

Rhubarb's Christmas Kit

Hi there!

My card today was made with September's Sweet 'n Sassy Rhubarb's Christmas card kit.  The papers, stamps, ribbons, twine and buttons are all included in the kit - I love all inclusive kits like those, don't you?  I designed this kit to be relatively clean and simple keeping in mind how busy we are all at Christmas.  Besides, this adorable Rhubarb the Bear image needs to take center stage, doesn't he?

For more details on the kit as well as to see all the card ideas I designed for the kit samples, please check out THIS LINK on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps website.

Have a wonderful day!

Count the Moments

Hi, it's Beate. Thanks to Taylor and Korin for inviting me to be the Guest Designer for October. I'm very excited to be here.

For my first sample I chose a card made for a Hope You Can Cling To Challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I was the hostess and my challenge was to create a circle card.

The card base was cut with the largest of the Large Scallop Circle Nestabilities dies out of Pink Pirouette cardstock. Patterned paper from the Echo Park Victoria Garden pack was cut with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die. Before it was stitched to a slightly bigger white cardstock circle, May Arts Crochet Lace was taped under the horizontal layer.

The sentiment is from Everyday Miracles. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The sentiment was cut and embossed with a Classic Circle Nestabilities die. One of the butterflies from the same set was partially stamped on the sentiment circle in second generation Shabby Shutter Distress ink. The sentiment was adhered to a slightly bigger pink layer cut with one of the Large Scallop Circle Nestabilities dies.

The butterfly that was used in the sentiment panel was stamped again on a piece of Victoria Garden Echo Park paper with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The butterfly was cut out and colored with Copic Markers (RV10, R43, R46 and E27). It was adhered to the lower left of the sentiment panel. Stardust Stickles was added to the darker parts of the wings and Glossy Accents to the body.

Red Kaisercraft Pearls finish off the card! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Shine Your Light...

Good Morning!

Kim's gorgeous card (from couple of days ago) inspired me to take my embossing powders out... plus heat embossing was the perfect technique to use on the type of card I set out to make.

I tend to use flowers and butterflies a lot so I am always in need of masculine cards. Today I decided to make one... and Shining Light clear stamp set had the perfect images just for that.

I stamped the lighthouse image on an old dictionary page (I made sure the word light was on the page I used) with VersaMark, and embossed it with silver embossing powder. Then I sponged some black ink inside of the lighthouse and the edges of the dictionary page.

Here are a number of ides that you could apply/use when making a masculine card:

-use text background

-distressing-I sponged and tore the edges

-stitching

-add buttons

-use some kind of string instead of ribbon-I used Black Baker's Twine

-dark colors

-heat embossing simple images

-add staples

I also picked a border punch that was not flowery, or cute by any means... to add some sparkles to my card, I used silver rhinestones. They are the perfect masculine embellishments, don't you think?

Thank you for stopping by today,

Monika

Happy Sunday everyone!
We are so glad that you took the time to visit the Sweet 'n Sassy blog. Today in the customer spotlight we are featuring Chrissy Dickinson

Chrissy created this card from our Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps set, Autumn Bounty.  I just love the color combo and papers she used.  It has the touch of pink with the oranges, a color I wouldn't have thought to use for fall!  Be sure to stop by Chrissy's blog, she has such a great variety of techniques and embellishments on  her cards.

Thank you Chrissy for using our Sweet 'n Sassy stamps!
