You Are Treasured

It's my turn to host the Sketch Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers this week, and I decided to use the sketch I drew to make a birthday card for my husband's grandmother.  I inked up the lovely Treasured set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I think this is such a great set, because it has so many "girl" words in it (grandmother, aunt, mother, sister, etc), and so many phrases to pair them with.  And really - how lovely is that butterfly?

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Here's a list of what I used:
Flower petals: CR7, CR6, CR5, CR4
Flower center: JG2, GB5, CT4
Flower stem: JG2, JG1
Butterfly: GB5, CT4, CT3, CT2
Outline: GG2, GG1

I stamped the image twice - once on the die cut circle and then again on another piece of cardstock, and fussy cut it.  I adhered it using foam tape, for dimenesion.  And to add even more dimension to the butterfly, I put an extra piece of foam tape there, which help keep the wing popped up at an angle.

Stop by the sketch challenge forum and play along with us this week!

For the Bride and Groom

Hello my friends! Giovana here bringing you a Wedding Card. July is around the corner and is also a "Wedding Month", in fact, it's my wedding month :) and I although I didn't get married in the sunny summer of the United States, I enjoyed my Winter wedding in my beautiful Peru.

So, I have a Wedding Card for you today. This card is very easy. The Card Base is from "After Five Collection Card Pad" from KaiserCraft, you just need to fold it and it's ready to go. The Patterned Papers are also from the same collection.
Now, the stamp image and sentiment are from Wedding Cake Set. I stamped the image in Weathered Wood Distress Ink, die-cut and emboos it with Scallop Circle Nestabilities. Added a little bit of Pink Stickles to the bow and roses and White Opal Liquid Pearls. I embellished it with White Ribbon and paper flowers. The sentiment was stamped in Black Soot Distress Ink.
TIP: If you use Distress Inks, after the image/sentiment is stamped, let it dry for few minutes.

Hope you like my card!
Have a great day.

New Faces at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

July is almost here - we can't believe it!  This year seems to be flying by so quickly, and the summer is no exception.  Are you enjoying it as much as we are?  We have a few changes to the Design Diva line-up to announce today!

Before we introduce a guest designer for July, and a new Design Diva for our regular team, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to DJ Rants.  DJ has been with us for the past three months and everyone has enjoyed seeing the gorgeous projects she has created!  Don't worry, DJ isn't going far...she'll still be around, creating with her Sweet 'n Sassy stamps!  With DJ's departure, we had a spot open on the team.  We are thrilled to announce that filling that spot is former guest designer Jennie Harper:

You can read Jennie's full bio we posted in May, when she was introduced as a guest designer.  Welcome to the team, Jennie!  We are all looking forward to working with you :)

Please join us in extending another warm welcome to our guest designer for July.......Jessica Diedrich!

My name is Jessica Diedrich and I'm a 35 year old mother to four amazing children and wife to one of the funniest, most thoughtful and supportive men in the world :) I call Nashville, TN my home and enjoy photography, music, travel, and cooking when I'm not making things out of paper and ink or attending basketball games, Girl Scout meetings, and dance competitions with my active and awesome "fab four" :)

My love of paper crafting began in 2003 when I started scrapbooking and eventually attended my first SU party with a friend. At that time I purchased one stamp set and a black ink pad "just to be polite". We all know where THIS is going...and where it's GONE ever since! I'm thrilled to be a guest designer for SNSS and can't wait to share my creations with you! Thanks for having me!
We're so excited to have Jessica with us for a month, and can't wait to see what she shares on the blog! We have quite a few exciting things happening in July, including a newly-revamped release celebration and two blog hops, so stay tuned and don't miss a thing!

Vintage meets modern

Hiya folks! It's Brenda here again one last time. It's been so fun guest designing this month here at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Thanks so much for having me!

For today's post I decided I'd use the Timeless Classic set in a new way. I adore the mix of modern and vintage, so that was the look I was going for with today's card.

I made the bright blue rectangle behind the truck image by flipping the stamp around and stamping on the back side. Then I flipped it back around and stamped the truck on top.

Some bold colors and designs add to the modern flair of this card. I added a little bit of black mist splatters to add a little bit of grunge.
And there you have a modern way to use a vintage image. I hope you like it!

It's been great fun hanging out here with you all this month! I loved the opportunity to use some of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps fantastic images.
Thanks for joining me, and have a great day!!

Wishing You a Beautiful Day

Happy Monday everyone!!  Are you all enjoying your summer so far?  I am loving having more time to just hang out with my kiddies, without the pressure of school.  And having more time to craft for the pure joy of creating!!

Today's card actually came about after looking through a book that I purchased for my boys yesterday...a mini Smash book.  (Who has jumped on the Smash book bandwagon??)  I thought the Smash books would be a great spot for them to jot down some of their summer memories.  Both of them have already filled out a few pages and added some stickers.

One of the Smash book pages was covered with a beautiful rainbow of colors that looked as if someone had watercolored right on the page.  When I saw the page I immediately imagined this card!

To create the card I used Distress Stains to color on a piece of sticky backed canvas.  Once the stains were dry (you can speed up this process with a heat gun), I stamped my images directly onto the canvas.  I started with the Friendship Script stamp, which I stamped in Pumice Stone Distress Ink and then I added a flower image, also stamped in Pumice Stone and Black Soot, from the Nature Silhouettes stamp set.  Next, I frayed the edges of the canvas by pulling out a few of the strings from each side of the sqaure.  My card was assembled and then I added this great sentiment from the new Make a Wish stamp set.

Super fun card to create and a super fun way to start the week!  How about you?  Have you tried out any of our Silhouette stamp sets yet?  They're great paired with colorful backgrounds.  Here are links to some of my favorites that are perfect for all of your summer crafty projects!

Enjoy your week!

Butterfly Crazy!

Lately I've been finding it hard to make a card NOT using the recently released Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps New Beginnings set!  Those three butterflies in various sizes with coordinating dies are just too fun and easy to use, not to mention such a variety of sentiments which can be mixed and matched.
For today's card I lightly sponged a cream shimmer card base with Ranger Distress Scattered Straw ink. I used SNSS's Lacey Eyelet border die, which is cut in half so that there's just a hint of lace peeking out behind the dp strip.  In order to give the twine more definition against the dp, I stretched it across a thin strip of cream card.  The finishing touches are some green flourishes and a rich red rose.
Wishing you a great weekend, hopefully including a little bit of crafty time!
Hugs, Bridget

Paradise Vacation

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!  Happy "Hump Day!"

Every once in a while, it's nice to break away from the busyness of life and enjoy a little piece of paradise!  Last week my hubby and I, along with our golden retriever, took off and headed for our definition of paradise...the beach!  I love to wake up early and look out the window to the beach below and listen to the rhythmic sound of waves breaking on the shore.  That's the scene I tried to create in my card sample for today.

The beach scene from the "Ocean Paradise" clear stamp set was stamped on a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and colored with Copic Markers.  A little bit of white gel pen and Stickles highlight the waves.  The window die was cut from Barely Banana card stock and mounted on top of the beach scene.  Some Baker's twine was used for the tie backs, and a little cheesecloth and shells adorn the window sill.  The wall paper and chair rail were made from some My Mind's Eye "Lost and Found" patterned paper and Smokey Shadow card stock. Everything was mounted on a Smokey Shadow card base.

Look who else has found time to relax at the beach...

It's RHUBARB from the new "Summertime Rhubarb" clear stamp set!  This set just happens to be the prize up for grabs at The Sweet Stop this week.  Check out the fabulous sketch and play along for a chance to win!

Not everyone can slip away to the beach, so I thought I would bring the beach to you!  I hope you can find time to enjoy a little piece of Paradise wherever you happen to be today!

Bless you for stopping by!

Hugs,
Cathymac

baby gift ensemble

Hi there. Brenda here again, and this time I made a gift topper and matching gift bag for giving a sweet baby gift in style.

The Vintage Baby set was perfect for this gift set with a bit of a shabby vintage flair. You could also add in a coordinating card to complete the set if you'd like.

The flower, doily embellishment is attached to a clothespin so you can easily clip it onto a gift bag or box. I also tucked a stamped tag underneath, along with a length of vintage ribbon.

I left the ribbon loose, just in case I decided to use it with a gift instead. That way I could wrap it around the gift and then clip the flower and tag on top.

And here's a closer look at the stamped tag. The backside is blank for writing a special note to the proud new parents.
This is also a great way to recycle, because that brown bag is one we got at American Eagle a while back. It had words on it, but the pretty papers covered it up quite nicely.
Now I'm all set for the next baby girl that arrives on the scene!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Treats Cocoa

Hi there!

Jessica here with a couple of sweet tooth Cocoa cards to share with you today!  I used the adorable Cocoa's Tasty Treats stamp set for both of my card.  Gotta love Cocoa Mouse hiding behind these super sweet treats!  I colored the images with Copic markers and added a bit of Crystal lacquer over the caramel on the apple and the hot chocolate on the sundae for some added shine.

Have a great rest of your day and I hope you get to enjoy some sweet treats today too!

Owl be There ~ Hoot of a Friend

stamps: Owl be There

Good morning Sweet'nSassy friends! I hope your Saturday finds you refreshed and time for some creative play. I love a weekend where I can do some of that...but believe me, they are few and far between. So, where I can squeeze in some creative fun, I do!

Owl be there is a set that is sooo much fun to paper piece. I took this cute owl and stamped him on four different patterns of paper that coordinate. Next I mounted him on one of the matching papers and continued the coordinating theme on the base of the card.

Thank you for joining us! Pull out your favourite SNS clear stamps to paper piece a card today and Have a beautiful Day!

A Clean & Simple Sketch

Good day, stamping friends!

I don't know about you but summer sure seems to stretch my time even more than usual and that means less crafty time.  Less crafty time means clean and simple cards!  This week it's my turn to host the SCS sketch again so I went with a super CAS sketch drawn from this super CAS card.

My CAS card features our new Kindess stamps and dies but the coolest part is the DP....it's part of a Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps stamp set insert :).  Gotta love that!

I hope you'll stop by SCS and give my sketch a try!

Happy Hump Day!

Scrapbooking with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps!

Hello again, everyone! It's great to be here with you all again! Thanks so much to all of you for making me feel so welcome! I know many of you stopped by my blog during the new release and left so many warm and wonderful comments! I appreciate that so much! Thank you!

I went outside the card and made a scrapbook page to share with you today. If you know me even a little bit you probably know that I'm crazy about scrapbooking, although I don't get the chance to do nearly as much of it these days as I'd like to. So I try to squeeze it in when I can. And using stamps on a page is always a fun change of pace rather than always making cards.

I used the Timeless Classics set again this time. When I saw this stamp set I knew it would work beautifully for a scrapbook page! Take a look!

You might have to look a little closer to see stamp sets used on a page since there's so much more space to fill. I actually used several of the images in the stamp set on this page. The most obvious is the antique car stamped on the manila tag. If you look very closely you can probably see that I lightly stamped the gears on the tag as well.

I also used two of the sentiments in the set. I thought they were very fitting for a page about my husband spending quality time with our kids. He's great about that! I'm grateful for the time he invests in their lives and so I think it's very appropriate to make a page documenting that. This stamp set was perfect for the ideas of time and influence I wanted this page to have.

I love the verse from Proverbs that is found in this set. It couldn't have been a better fit for a page like this!

I love that the stamps make up most of the embellishments on a page like this. I only added a couple of other elements, along with my patterned paper, for a cohesive and finished page.

I hope I have inspired you to give scrapbooking a try if you never have before. It's a fabulous way to stretch the use of your stamps if you primarily use them for card making.

If you have any questions about anything I used on my page I'd be happy to answer them here or on my blog
Thanks so much for joining me here today!

Welcome Sweet Little One

Hello my friends! Giovana here showing you a cute baby card using Vintage Baby Set. I really love this new set!
Here few steps how I created this card:

  • Make card base from Kraft Cardstock.
  • Cut a panel from Kraft Cardstock and add Patterned Paper (Baby Borders by Graphic 45) and White Lace Ribbon. Mat this piece with a slightly bigger piece of Light Blue Cardtsock. Add zig-zag stitches.
  • Stamp sentiment to bottom part (Black Archival Ink)
  • Stamp image on Ivory Cardstock in Black Archival Ink. Die-cut, emboss and stencil piece with Label Fourteen Dies.
  • Add image to card panel with Pop dots.
  • Make a bow with Twine and add to image.
  • Add Card Panel to card base.
You may change the colors to create a baby girl card or make it yellow or green!

Hope you like it!
Have a great day!

Customer Spotlight Sunday!

It's Sunday morning and we are here with another great find in our search for our Customer Spotlight Sunday!

This great Dad card was made by, Margaret, you can find her blog HERE!  I think the paper she used is the PERFECT match for her card and I also love how she used the large white button with the red thread to give the effect of a baseball embellishment.  Super card!!!  She used our All Star Cocoa stamp set and you can also get this image as a digi, Cocoa Loves Babeball.  He's cute and perfect for any masculine cards you are in need of.  The stamp set has great sentiments for Father's Day!

For this second card Margaret used our Feeling Fruity Cocoa stamp set.  Her papers choices are fun with the stripes and polka dots and works perfectly with our Watermelon Cocoa.

Thanks so much for sharing such fabulous creations with us! You never know when we'll spot your card in our gallery or on one of our challenge blog linky collections, so be sure to keep those amazing uploads coming (we are always on the lookout in ourSplitcoaststampers galleryPaper Craft Planet, and the linky collections for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge and the Digi Challenges)!
