Faith, Hope and Love

Hello, it's Bridget here with a card using the versatile and beautiful set Prim Blessings!
Bright yellow sunflowers are so cheerful, they're great for any occasion,
but especially perfect for cards of encouragement.
I wanted to attach the tag on the sunflower so I drew in a stem and then added a bow and button.
The flower is colored with copics and popped up and the flower center has been sponged with ink and popped up for another layer of dimension.
I cut a tiny heart from one of the other accent images to cover up an ink smudge!  It made me think of this verse from the Bible:
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
 (1 Peter 4:8)
Love doesn't excuse or hide wrongs, but it does help us forgive -
this little heart was very forgiving in dealing with my mistake!
I used my Scor-pal to score lines at the top of the card base and
a Fiskars Corner Rounder for the bottom edges.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope it's a great weekend for you!

Oops!

So this week has become a blur...I am not sure how it's Friday already but it is.  The first day of school was Monday.  Need I say more?  ;) With that said, I must confess that I do not have a Friday Feature for you today as was the plan.  Instead I am simply posting to say that I am a goof because time got away from me.  Life sometimes gets in the way of our plans, doesn't it?  In fact, I am typing this as my son is putting a Play-Doh burger in front of me. :)  I can play and type at the same time...right?

Anyway, please be sure to mark your calendar for Thursday, September 5th because we'll be partying again in our SCS Member Company Forum at 8pm EST for our September release! The DT is having a blast creating holiday cards with our 6 new stamp sets and 3 new die sets.  There will be 6 days of blog hops starting NEXT Saturday.  We are really looking forward to sharing with you!

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a great weekend!  I'm off to enjoy some Play-Doh ice cream for dessert! ;)

His Children

Hi everyone!  I'm super excited to be joining you today to show off two of the latest Sweet 'n Sassy releases!  The first is yet another silhouette set that I absolutely ADORE!  I just can't get enough of these amazing sets!  The one that I used on my card comes from the God Is stamp set (the sentiment is included in the set as well) and is right up there as one of my favorite sets, featuring sweet boys (I love me some sweet boys because I have two of my own!) playing.  I even find such comfort in the sentiments...because if you have boys, who seem to make an art out of injuring themselves, I sure can use a reassuring sentiment that God is watching over them.

I used one of the new Decorative Frames (a set of dies with coordinating stamps) set to showcase my swinging boy (I love having a stamp to edge the frame die!).  I paired the designs with great paper from Crate and simply added a few gold pearls to accent a few areas on the card.

Enjoy and be sure to check out all of the latest Sweet 'n Sassy releases!!

Sunflowers and Dandelions

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!   By now, most of the kids around here have begun a new school year...hope yours got off to a good start as well.  It's been two years now since I've had had to prepare a room for a new school year.  On the first day of school all of the retired teachers had breakfast together and waved as the school buses went by... fun!   Being retired has its advantages...the most obvious being more time to spend crafting!  It's Cathy here and my turn to share several cards with you.

I love sunflowers!  Their happy faces are perfect for sending hello wishes, and the sunflowers in the new Prim Blessings clear stamp set are perfect for doing just that!
Graphic 45 French Country DP is the perfect complement for these happy sunflowers.  Love the warm colors on this sunny hello card!

I usually do NOT like to see dandelions sprouting up on my lawn, but the Make a Wish dandelion is perfect for sending birthday wishes.
The dandelion was clear embossed and sponged with distress inks.  Tiny seed beads were hand stitched to the dandelion seeds blowing away in the wind.  This card was made for this week's sketch at The Sweet Stop.  If you get a chance, stop by and play along with SSS225!

That's it...weeds and flowers...both created by God for our pleasure!  Hope you've been blessed by your visit!

Hugs,
Cathy

A Reborn Heart

Well friends, my desk is clean, my stamp sets put away.
It's time to say good-bye to August.
What a wonderful opportunity and pleasure it has been creating for Sweet n Sassy Stamps this month.   I've enjoyed creating for you too ~  sharing my heart and stories, my cards and photographs.  Savoring a cup of morning coffee as we hop from blog to blog; smiling, nodding in agreement, loving all the new stamps, and oohing and aahing at all the beautiful cards from the talented design team.  The art of paper-crafting is a wonderful venue to bring women together isn't it?   Not only to share our skill and talents with one another, but to share from the heart as well.

My last card uses the large inspirational sentiment stamp, His Peace.   I've used Gelatos for a emboss resist effect.   Such a soft and beautiful way to create with color don't you think?   And, in my humble opinion, anything that has the word, "gelato" in it has to be good ~ right?    I stamped my sentiment right on my Nestabilities 5x7 Detailed Scalloped Frame in Versafine Onyx Black ink and applied little crystals on the flourish.    The panel on the left was stamped with Ranger Emboss It (clear) and heat embossed with Zing White Opaque Finish.   Next came the fun part *wink*   I rubbed on some pink and lavender Gelatos *sigh* until I got the desired effect.   Some dark purple ribbon on an angle with a lighter lavender (almost looks like light blue in the photo) placed on top.   A sweet little bow with a crystal heart charm and several lavender Prisma baby roses.    The card is a 5x7 with a top open and the corners rounded at the bottom.
Sweet n Sassy Stamps ~ Large Inspirational Sentiment ~ His Peace
The sentiment is beautiful.  For me it's the laying down of a burden, a fear, letting go of control, forgiving, and learning to love again in an unconditional way.    With each step of obedience, no matter how small, I learn to Rest in His Peace, and a heart is reborn again.

Thank you to everyone at Sweet n Sassy Stamps.   It's been a pleasure.
Blessings,

Faith Hope Love

Hey there SNSS fans, Jennie here today with a card I made using the new stamp set Prim Blessings. I stamped the sunflower image numerous times on patterned paper and colored the petals using Copics. The layout is very simple and makes it easy for mailing.

I am stepping down from the design team and would like to thank Korin for the opportunity to design for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. It has been so much fun and love the Christian emphasis of SNSS!
May the Lord continue to bless this wonderful company and will certainly see you all out and about in blog land and forums :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

live love bloom

Hello friends!  August is slowly drawing to a close...I hope you've enjoyed your summer!  As we look toward another season of change, I am thankful for the beauty God surrounds us with.  Each season brings something wonderful!

I couldn't decide which card to share again today...lol...so I have 3 different cards, all in shades of pink or red.

My first card is a springy / summery card.  I just LOVE this bird image from the Praise The Lord stamp set!  I paired it with a sentiment from Be Encouraged.  The bird and flowers are popped up.

Next I have a card with my Prim Blessings from this month's release.  This Fall-ish set was used for a summery card by changing the tones of brown in the sunflower to shades of pink.  I also used the fun triangle die from the Shape dies.

And finally, I have a simple Christmas card to share.  I like to make a few cards each month so I don't have a lot to make all at once.  When I saw this month's set, God Is, it reminded me of The Little Drummer Boy...perfect for a Christmas card!  I simply printed the words on my computer and stamped the boy above.

Have a wonderful week and enjoy your last bit of summer!

♥  Diane

Sunflower Birthday

My husband's birthday was on August 10 and his favorite flowers are sunflowers.  So, I created this card for him that I would like to share with you today.

I created the bg panel by randomly stamping the small sunflower image from Prim Blessings to create my own dp and sponged the edges with saffron ink.  I then created my focal point for my sentiment by layering 2 of the decorative plaque dies which were also stamped using the new decorative frames set.  They are also available in a bundle this month :). The sentiment is from Script Birthdays.

My husband enjoyed receiving his card and I hope that I have been able to inspire you today.  Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

Just Because ~

Hi everyone! Mary here with a bookmark card from the latest release Bookmark bits and Pieces set. I love this cute owl, coloured using copics and die cut directly using Bookmarks and More dies. I layered this die onto another die after I cut it down the centre to expand the layer with coordinating cardstock. I embellished the tag using vintage lace and rosette lace. I added a metal brad on the circle top of the tag to finish off the tag. The sentiment is created pulling two word stamps from decorative Frames stamp set.

Thank you for joining me! Be sure to look up Sweet'nSassy on Facebook or Splitcoast Stampers.

Materials Used:
Stamps: Bookmark bits and pieces
Inks: Copics, memento black, versafine vintage sepia

Blessing to Ewe

Hello friends! Giovana here today with a very cute card. I think "Prim Blessings" set is a really adorable set. I tried to create a little scene here.
For this card I stamped the little sheep on watercolor paper (x3) in Jet Black Archival ink, colored them with Inktense pencils, then I cut them out to create a 3D image.
I die-cut grass (here I used the negative too) from Patterned Paper, fence from Brown Cardstock and cloud from White Cardstock. I stamped the coordinated clouds in Memento Summer Sky ink.
I added zig-zag stitches to the front of the card as well as tangerine twine.

Here are the Sweet 'n Sassy Products used:

Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day!

Read a Book!

Hello again friends!

Wow!  Haven't the sample cards from the Sweet n Sassy Designers for the August release been fabulous?!  It's been a pleasure to create with them this month.

I'm back from a restful visit with my mother-in-law in southeastern Ohio.   Mom is 82 years old now and lives on a farm with her brother-in-law and her twin sister.   Uncle Ken does a wonderful job keeping up a 40 acre farm, and the twins love being near one another in their golden years.   Both are avid readers.   My card is dedicated to them today.

Sweet n Sassy Bookmark Bits and Pieces August Release Set
I've used the stamp, Travel the World Read a Book! from the Bookmark Bits and Pieces Sweet n Sassy August release set again.    But this time I created a traveling suitcase with library envelope and tags inside and placed right in the middle of my little suitcase.   Stamps cut from Graphic 45 Transatlantic collection present a nice visual aid for all the places books can take us to.   Between the pages of a book we find ourselves lost in travel, romance, and even mystery.   Destinations come alive! We're aboard the Queen Mary, riding the Orient Express, climbing the Swiss Alps.   The possibilities are endless ~ and maybe someday, someday... we'll find ourselves in those far away places. Can you imagine?

My husband and I are planning a trip to Bordeaux, France next August.   What an adventure as we trace the steps of our traveling companions great-grandfather during WWI in France.   And what fun we'll have reading and planning in the coming year to prepare.   I hope you've enjoyed my card today, and will give it a try the next time you need to send a card to someone who loves to read, or maybe to a friend who's going on a trip.  Include a little guide book with your card.   Think of all the different ways you might embellish your reading suitcase.   I'll see you back again next Tuesday with another card using a Sweet n Sassy August release stamp set.   Until then, I'm on my way again ~

Bon Voyage!
Susie ~

Speaking The Truth

Hi there!
It's Ceal here sharing some more samples from our August Release.  I do a card ministry at my church and I was so excited to see these sets released.  I love how they are over sized sentiments and become focal point of your card. They show us who God is and how He cares for us and sure to bring encouragement to those who receive a card made with these two sentiments.
My first card uses Calms His Child and I paired it up with  an older set The Sea. I stamped the image in Memento London Fog so it is muted and then sponged over it with some distress inks.
For my second card I used His Peace along with Authentique papers and one of the hearts from the Heart Dies

Thanks for stopping by!

More Fun with the August Release!

Good morning!

Jessica here with a couple of cards I made using some of our fabulous new August release collection!  Have you hopped along each day with the design team yet?  If not, today's the last day to do so and leave comments for your chance to win some fun prizes!  Scroll down on our blog just a bit for more information about that.

Both of my cards for today uses the must have Bookmark & Bits stamp set with the coordinating Bookmarks & More die collection.  LOVE these new additions to SNSS!  I used my favorite image from the stamp set - the globe!  I've always been fascinated with them and would spend lots of time mesmorized by our family globe as a child... crazy, I'm sure.  I used the frame die image for the globe and trimmed off the bottom of it, tucking the edge behind my baker's twine wrap.  The sweet 'hi' is from the Mini Tags & Sentiments stamp set.  perfection.

My second card uses the globe again, this time stamped repeatedly to create a background on the yellow patterned paper.  The coordinating sentiment was stamped on a Decorative Plaque which was stamped with the matching frame from the Decorative Frame stamp set.  Fun colors - yellow, black, white with just a touch of turquoise in the baker's twine.  Super CAS and super mailable!  love that!

Have a great day - hope you get the chance to 'travel' today, even if it's just by reading a book!

;)

Prim Blessings

Hello! It's Monika here today bringing you a card using the brand new Prim Blessings clear stamp set. Have you seen the fabulous samples made with this set during our blog hop? It has so many wonderful images and greetings. It is a very versatile stamp set.

I used the pretty sunflower image on my card. I stamped the image twice. After coloring the images with Copic Markers I cut both flowers out, but on the second one I cut off every other petals.

The greeting is from Be Encouraged clear stamp set. The leaves were die-cut with Small Leaves Dies.
The sketch came from The Sweet Stop, SSS224. This week it's Sketch with a Spin and a Prize! Check it out and play along with us!

Thank you for stopping by,
Monika

God's Hands

Hello, it's Bridget here and today I've got a card using one of the new sets released just last week!
I hope you enjoyed the Mini Blog Hops highlighting the new sets over the last few days.
My very favorite stamps are those with encouraging sentiments for creating cards to send to those going through difficult times who could use a reminder of who God is and how trustworthy He is.  This beautifully designed set, His Peace, really fits the bill!
I don't know about you, but I need to be reminded almost daily to give my worries
to Jesus and then ask Him to help me receive His peace.
This is a fairly easy to execute design - I simply
added some little brads on the accents above and below the sentiment and then arranged various shaped hearts cut from scraps of dp and cardstock using Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Heart Dies.
They're popped up at different levels for layers of dimension.
I then added some little black punched butterflies with pearl centers.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
