Behold the New

It was a cold, dark, night...
No, no, it was a cold, rainy night.
Nope.  It's just down right freezing outside!

Hi friends, how are you?  Are you staying warm?  Let's all keep our fingers crossed that Punxsutawney Phil doesn't see his shadow this year (laughing).   For now, the cold weather provides the opportunity to stay indoors and do a little stamping.  I hope you've carved out some stamping time for yourself as well.    Now is a good time to take advantage of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps sale - 50% off selected stamp sets while they last.   And you certainly don't want to miss out on our newest feature (pun intended).   It's our Friday Feature & Challenge.   Come play!  We'd love to see what you've been creating.
I love to fussy up a card.  But there are times when I just don't have time to add the extra layers or embellishments.    So today I used a sweet open butterfly design paired with a wonderful Bible verse. Both play off each other.   A Kraft card stock base is the canvas of choice for this card. Simple stamping with just a touch of watercolor pencil, and some Ranger Distress paint (white picket fence) smudged around the edges.  End result: a one layer card with plenty of appeal, and a wonderful reminder that the past is behind.  Behold the new.   Praise be to God!

Thank you for your visit today dear friends.
Warm hugs and blessings,

Happy Anniversary...

Hello! It's Monika here today, bringing you a fairly simple anniversary card.

I love working with the Heart Die set, but I don't make a lot of Valentine's Day cards... luckily those sweet heart die-cuts are also perfect for anniversary or wedding cards.

I stamped the Music Background clear stamp set on the background with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I misted it with blue ink.

The butterfly is from Majestic Monarchs clear stamp set. Again, I stamped the image with VersaMark, this time on Vellum card stock, and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I usually stamp, heat emboss, and die-cut a bunch of butterflies. This way they are ready for different projects.
I used the coordinating Monarch Dies to cut it. The greeting is from Bottom of My Heart clear stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by,
Monika

A Mixed Up Valentine Critter

Hello Everyone!

Well, we are at the end of January (where did the time go??) and it seems that much of the country continues to be bouncing in and out of cold snaps and snow.  I hope you are staying warm where you are!
With February comes Valentine's Day.  My card today is actually for my twenty something son, who seems to finally have found his way in this thing called life.  No matter how old they get, you never stop worrying or loving.
Seeing as this is a guy card, I took the mixed media approach and grunged it up~

This absolutely adorable image is from the Valentine Critters Stamp Set by Diane Zechman.  I found watercoloring to be a great coloring medium to get some fun texture on the dog fur.
My background panel is multiple layers of mediums to achieve the depth as well as texture in the final product.  Beneath layers of acrylic paint and gesso are two Sweet 'n Sassy images, Grunge Elements and Music Background.  I stamped the sentiment from the Valentine Critters set directly onto the mixed media panel using Ranger Archival Black ink. You can get a list of supplies used to maked this mixed media card on my blog
Don't forget about the Friday Feature Special, which is Script Birthdays through January 30, and the chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store when you play in our new Friday Feature Challenge.  Then there is the  Going, Going Gone Sale where you can snag some fabulous sets at 50% off.  Hurry over-when they are gone, they are gone!

Thank you so much for visiting; stay warm and have a blessed week!

Lee Ann :)

same...but different

Hello!  Today I've used some of the same supplies (papers, gemstones, tracing wheel) to create 2 very different cards.  I had some more fun with this month's release.  The first card uses my Valentine Critters set.  I paper pieced (one of my favorite techniques) the elephant and balloons to make a very CAS card.

Then I used the same red card base but cut it a bit narrower so I could let a small banner hang off the edge.  The Majestic Monarchs die was cut 3 times from the pink layer, then I layered patterned paper behind it to create another CAS card.  The awesome sentiment is from the set called The Future.

Be sure to also check out the great SALE going on at Sweet 'n Sassy.  Get your favorites while they last!  Thanks for stopping by.  :)
♥ Diane

Birthday Wishes

Hi everybody!  Today I would like to share a card with you that I made during my term on the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen.  It is now past 6 months so I am now able to show it here on the blog.  I chose this card today because it features one of my favorite sentiment sets Script Birthdays which happens to be this week's Friday Feature as well.  You will definitely want to grab it before it sells out at the fantastic price of only $11.25.

This was a pretty simple card to put together.  The only stamping is the sentiment and the rest is just some great dp from Echo Park Little Boys collection.  Some stitching and twine to accent and all set.

Don't forget to play along with our challenge this week which is to use the word "birthday" on your card- easy peasy right?  You have until Thursday to play along and have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store.  Happy creating!

Hi there it's Ceal here to share with you today. I just can't get enough of this new set Valentine Critters. The images make the cutest Valentine cards for all ages. to make my card, I ran my design paper thru an embossing folder with hearts on it and colored up the sweet elephant with my Copic markers then added a die cut heart above "heart" to finish it off

Thanks for looking!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello friends! Giovana here today with a very cute Valentine card using "Valentine Critters" set! Anytime I look at this set,  I smile :)

This card is super simple, yet cute! I stamped the elephant image on a piece of White Cardstock and colored it with Spectrum Noir Markers: DGR1,3,6; GG1,2,3,5; BGR1,2,3; FS5. Then I stamped the sentiment in Jet Black Archival ink and added a piece of chevron patterned paper, added zig-zag stitches. Die-cut a tiny heart and added it with dimensionals. Finally I added Crystal lacquer to the heart balloons and sprinkle clear glitter. After that was dried, I added the panel to a red card base.

Hope you like it!
Have a fantastic day!

I Choose to Believe

Hello from Belfast, it's Bridget here!
Today I've got a card to share with you using a couple of sets
from the January release which I've left out on the craft table to
use again and again since I got them.
The sentiments in the set The Future are all encouraging and
inspiring but this one by Corrie Ten Boom really speaks to me,
especially knowing her story.  Her experiences in a German
prison camp during World War 2 - especially the brutality and
the death of her dear sister,
Betsie - make this statement even more meaningful.
To believe that God is both all powerful and all loving when life
is painful takes making a choice, even if we have to ask God for
the faith to make it. Corrie Ten Boom chose to believe and
God ended up using her in the most amazing way!

I stamped the sentiment in gray (Archival Starlite) to
match the look of the weathered wood of the dp panel
and the circle is sponged lightly with Stampin Up's Pool Party ink to
give some contrast. The dp is from Prima's Fairy
Rhymes collection - Secret Garden.
The butterflies from Majestic Monarchs are so easy
to use with the new Monarch Dies - I love seeing that perfect
little border when it comes out of the Cuttlebug!  They're coloured with copics.
Thank you for stopping by today!

Nothing to Fear...

Hi folks!  Kim here today to share a card featuring one of my favorite images...silhouettes!  I simply adore all of the designs you can create using silhouette images and Korin has the best selection around!  Have you seen all of them?  If not, don't delay, go and check them out...you'll definitely find something you'll love!

My card features the sweet God Is stamp set, which includes three silhouette images and a host of encouraging sentiments.  I love the solid truth of the sentiment on this card..  Our lives won't be without trials (whose life is) but we worship a most mighty God...there is nothing to fear.

For my card, I started by using a stencil and Distress Ink to add some grey polka dots on top of text paper.  Then I stamped the silhouette image and used a Copic marker to add some shading under the feet.  All that was left was to assemble my card, using great paper from My Minds Eye.  The sentiment was attached last (after those giant brads) and viola...a perfect card to encourage a friend!

Enjoy today's project and be sure to check out all of the great silhouette images at Sweet 'n Sassy!

Ok, onto some sharing!  Have I mentioned that our NEWEST clear stamp set, God Is Bigger, is one of my faves?  This is such and AMAZING set!! So, many great ways to utilize this set!  The first card I mae, combines the Majestic Monarch's Clear Stamp Set, the new Monarch Dies, AND the God Is Bigger Clear Stamps Set!  I layered Bazzill Pear and GP White cardstock, added my Copic colored butterflies, then finished it off with some rhinestones and sentiments!!

My second card features the SNSS God Is Bigger Clear Stamp Set and SNSS Baby's Circus Clear Stamp Set!  Have to admit that animal sets are a favorite of mine too!!  The animals could create a masculine OR feminine card!!  When I created this one, I took some scraps of DSP I had and layered it onto some PTI Chocolate and PTI Blue cardstock.  I just cut my base pieces out in a square shape with  my paper cutter.  Then I stamped my cute lion with Tuxedo Memento ink, colored him in with my copics, and cut him out with my circle Spellbinders.  I stamped the Be Strong onto GP white and punched it out with  my SU label punches.  After all the sentiments were stamped with Chocolate Colorbox ink, completed my creation with some Hemp twine and brown rhinestones!

Hope you enjoyed my sharing and thanks for joining me today!  Stop back tomorrow, for there is LOTS more fun to be shared!!  I hope you all have an AMAZING Monday!!

Blessings,

Jacquie Peifer/Javablustamper

Have Faith

Hello Sweet 'n Sassy friends!
January is the perfect time to reflect on the past year and set new goals for the future.  As I look back, I am always amazed at the faithfulness of God.  When I remember how He has brought me through trials in my past, I have confidence and faith that He will see me through anything I will have to face in the future.  The Edith Edman quote in the Faith clear stamp set tells us not to doubt in the dark what God has shown us in the light.  I used this quote on my card sample for you today.

A section of the card front was masked with Post-It notes and the background was sponged with Memento inks.  The Lighthouse from Landscape Silhouettes was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink. The image was stamped again onto a stamp positioner imaging sheet (or acetate), and pressed, ink side down, under the lighthouse to create the reflection.  The sentiment was stamped partly in the dark and partly in the light areas of the front panel.  A white gel pen was used to add stars and waves.

Just as a lighthouse guides ships safely during the night, so God faithfully guides us as we put our trust in Him.

Thanks so much for visiting with us today…have a restful and peaceful Sunday!

Hugs,

Have a great Weekend!

Thank You

Hello friends!
The past month has just zipped by hasn't it?  Have you had a chance to put your feet up and relax after all the holiday activities?   Now it's time to say thank-you to all who have graced us with their friendship this past year.   Handwritten notes seem to be a lost art.   What do you think causes us to tarry when it comes to this social grace?  Is it easier to type an email, text, tweet, or share our comings and goings on Instagram or Facebook?    Holding a card or letter in our hands with the handwritten script of someone dear is like connecting through time and space.   I love old letters with yellowed pages, handwriting that paints a picture, hints of scent that still linger.  It's like an old photograph that connects us to past or present.   I promise myself again I'll be better about writing notes to family and friends in the new year.
How are you?
Good job!
You're loved.
Thank you.

Today I've created a simple little thank-you card with the Butterfly Flourish Clear Stamp Set.  A beautiful set to help you create a lovely stationary boxed set, or just one of two to keep in your desk. Why not start this year with one special handwritten note to someone dear.    You'll be glad you did.  And that special someone will thank you too.
I'll see you back here on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Blog toward the end of January.  Until then, I'll be writing a few thank-you notes and checking my mailbox (smiling).
Blessings,
Susie ~

...but I wasn't crazy about it, so I decided to turn it into a square card and a book mark!

I just made another butterfly to decorate the bookmark(stamped the image on Vellum, heat embossed it with white embossing powder, then die-cut it with the coordinating die), stamped another sentiment on it, and adhered magnets strips inside. Hope you will give this a try.

The background was sprayed with glimmer mist.

Don't forget to do the hops and see the beautiful samples from the DT!
